SOUTH WEST SENIORS CHAMPIONSHIP

PARKSTONE GOLF CLUB

THURSDAY 16TH & FRIDAY 17TH JULY 2015

The South Western Counties Golf Association Seniors Amateur Championships were held at Parkstone Golf Club on Thursday 16th and Friday 17th July 2015.

The Club Captain ( Mr Chris Randle) of Parkstone Golf Club welcomed the South Western Counties to Parkstone and the South West President Mr Paul Clahane complimented the Club on the excellent condition of the course and thanked all the staff for looking after their visitors so very well.

The 2015 South Western Counties Golf Association Seniors Championships were held at Parkstone Golf Club in fine, but breezy, conditions which caused the field of sixty-six competitors some difficulty with only one player coming within two shots of the par of 71.

The South West Group Qualifying Competition for the England Golf Seniors County Finals to be played at Robin Hood Golf Club from the 6th to 8th October 2015 were Devon with a score of 774 captained by Jon Gynne  and his team of Philip Lyons, Graham Ruth, Paul Vicary, Simon Waddington, Richard Ward & Brian Winteridge.

The Runners-Up were Gloucestershire on 783 Robert Broad, Vernon Chappell, David Potter, Andy Selway, Richard Wood and John Chilvers.

The Individual Prizes for the over 65's age group went to:-

Winner - Roger Searle from High Post - 153

Runner-Up - Graham Taylor - 156 

The Winner of the Leonard Lake Trophy was Richard Wood (Gloucestershire) Long Ashton Golf Club with rounds of 73 + 76 = 149
