This years championship was played over the challenging High Post Golf Club in a beautiful setting near Amesbury in Wiltshire.
Following many weeks of hot, sunny, dry conditions the course proved a severe test, especially when the strong winds came up on the first day.
The par of seventy was not achieved by any of the sixty-six competitors, only Mark Davies (Ferndown Golf Club - Dorset) and last years winner Ron Schroder (Burnham & Berrow Golf Club - Somerset) scoring 72, which was the CSS for the morning round.
The second day opened with another hot, sunny and dry morning with bright sunshine. The wind, however did get up to make the conditions difficult again for the later starters.
Ron Schroder came in with a superb 67 in the afternoon, the only player to break par throughout the event. Ashley Beckett (Broadstone- Dorset) was four strokes behind on 71.
