This years championship was played over the delightful Tiverton Golf Club in a beautiful setting just outside Tiverton in Devon.
The very hot weather over the two hottest days of the year so far proved to be a difficult test.
The par of seventy was not achieved by any of the sixty-three competitors who started the event, with only Gary Earl of Yeovil Golf Club, representing Dorset recording a 71 against the SSS of 72 in the afternoon round on the first day.
John Pounder ( Yeovil Golf Club - Dorset) and Andy Rowe ( Looe Golf Club - Cornwall) both scored 72's.

The second day opened with another very hot and sunny and dry day with very little breeze, using a two tee start play was under way at 8 a.m.
Scoring on day two was marginally better, but the only player to better the par of 70 was Tim Aggett of Warren Golf Club representing Devon in recording a superb score of sixty-nine. Philip Bill of Ferndown Golf Club, representing Dorset was one shot back on 70 and Paul Bloomfield of Wiltshire two further shots back on 72.

The overall winner of the South Western Counties Golf Association Seniors Championship was Philip Bill (Ferndown Golf Club - Dorset) with rounds of 75 + 70 = 145 (pictured below) Winner of the Leonard Lake Trophy.
Runner- up just one shot behind was Tim Aggett (Warren Golf Club - Devon) 77 + 69 = 146 on count-back from Paul Bloomfield (Kingsdown Golf Club - Wiltshire) 74 + 72 = 146.
In fourth place was Tony Coles (Ashley Wood Golf Club - Dorset) 74 + 73 = 147 on count-back from Peter Bicknell (Torquay Golf Club - Devon) on count-back from Paul Newcombe and Paul Vicary both on the same scores.

The Over 65's was won for the second year in succession by Paul Vicary (Saunton - Devon) 147.
The prize for the best Nett score went to Colin Kitt (China Fleet G.C - Cornwall).
The England Golf Seniors Team qualifying event was won for the second year in succession by DORSET, pictured below.
This was only after a card play-off when DEVON returned an identical score of 740.
