INTER-COUNTY TEAM MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP-

The week at St Enodoc Golf Club was played in glorious weather conditions until the very final day when heavy rain was forecast. In the end event the final day was overcast at times and rain threatened, but, fortunately held off to allow the final round of matches to be completed. 

 GLOUCESTERSHIRE Won the Shield winning four and halving one of their five matches.

Nick Day, Laurie Potter, Haider Hussain, Noah Hessey, David Wood, Tm Workman, Mitch Waite, Joe Long, Jack Cope & Jake Phillips.

The competition went right to the wire , only being decided on the very last afternoon.

CORNWALL were runners-up winning four, but losing against the eventual winners.

3rd were WILTSHIRE

4th were SOMERSET

5th were DEVON and

winning the wooden spoon were DORSET

CLIFFORD BURDEN TROPHY

 Joe Cruse from the host club - Cornwall won 8.5 points to win the Clifford Burden Trophy from Nick Day & Thomas Workman who both achieved 7.5 points 

SOUTH WESTERN AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

 The 36 Holes were played in glorious conditions and resulted in a very close finish.

LAURIE POTTER (Cotswold Hills Golf Club) -seen here receiving his trophy from Paul Clahane (President of SWCGA), returned two excellent rounds of 66 and 67 to return a score of 133, narrowly defeating ROB MACGREGOR (Tehidy Park Golf Club) who came storming home with a 64 to follow his morning round of 71.

HARRY HALL came a very close third with rounds of 69 and 67.

YOUTHS CHAMPIONSHIP

HARRY HALL (West Cornwall Golf Club) returned two fine rounds of 69 & 67 to secure a one shot victory over JOSH HILLEARD (Farrington Golf Club) and JAMIE CLARE (Wells Golf Club)

SOUTH WEST GROUP QUALIFYING COMPETITION FOR THE ENGLAND MEN'S COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS

CORNWALL represented by Joe Cruse, Josh Greenaway, Harry Hall, Rob MacGregor, Matt Richards and Conor Wilson and ably led by Captain David Kneebone will represent the South West Region in the English County Championship Finals at Sandwell Park Golf Club on 22nd - 25th September.

Their winning margin of 38 shots saw SOMERSET lying in the runners-up position with GLOUCESTERSHIRE a further three shots behind in third place.
