A wonderful week of golf, played, in the most part in very fine dry conditions produced some sparkling golf and a very tight and nail-biting finish. The result was in the balance until the final day, when Somerset came out as winners, winning all five of their matches
with Gloucestershire finishing as runners-up with four wins.

The Clifford Burden Trophy was won by incoming SWCGA Captain Phil White with an outstanding 100% record for the week, playing ten matches and being victorious in them all.
Sam Fernley (Burnham & Berrow Golf Club) and Joe Retford (Cumberwell Park Golf Club) were both runners-up with 7.5 points.
On a glorious day at Cumberwell Park Golf Club a maximum field of seventy-two competitors played some sparkling golf with a very close finish ensuing.
In third place was Jake Bolton (Ogbourne Downs Golf Club - Wiltshire) with rounds of 70 + 65 135
Runner-Up was Mitch Waite (Filton Golf Club - Gloucestershire) with a morning round of 67 followed by an outstanding 64 in the afternoon for a total of 131
The Winner was Tom Sloman of (Taunton & Pickeridge Golf Club - Somerset) with rounds of 65 + 65 and a one stroke winning margin of 130.
Runner-Up was Jake Bolton with scores of 70 - 65 Totalling 135 with Tom Sloman receiving the Brockman Salver with his accumualtive total of 130.
SOUTH WEST GROUP QUALIFYING COMPETITION FOR THE ENGLAND MEN'S COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS TO BE PLAYED AT ALDEBURGH GOLF CLUB ON 28th to 30th SEPTEMBER were GLOUCESTERSHIRE with a score of 837.
Their team, ably Captained by Gary Ward were Jack Cope, Nick Day, Alex Ireland, Joe Long, Jake Phillips and Mitch Waite.
The Runners-Up were WILTSHIRE their team captained by home man Ali James and team members Jake Bolton, James Cooper, Tom Law, Joe Retford, Garry Slade and Tom Stagg six shots further back on 843.
